Why should I train my dog?

There are many benefits to training your dog. They include:

  • Helps develop a strong bond with your dog by building trust and understanding.

  • It gives you the skills to communicate with your dog. In return, this gives you better control of your dog and helps build a base line for your dog on how to act in new situations.

  • It can save their life! The come and leave it commands are two very important commands.

  • Provides the mental stimulation that is needed. In most cases, training your dog for 15 minutes will tire them out more than playing with your dog for 15 minutes.

What training methods do you use?

We understand that not all dogs learn the same. A skilled trainer will have a "toolbox". They will adjust techniques and tools to the individual dog they are working with. Just like people, not all dogs learn the same.

We are a balance trainer which means we do not limit our training techniques to just one side of the training spectrum. We use all four quadrants of Operant Conditioning to help the dog to be the best that they can be.

What type of training do you offer?

We currently only offer private one-on-one training. During our sessions, we can go over a variety of problems you are having with your dog such as puppy problems (mouthing, house breaking, chewing, potty training, etc), obedience of all levels, walking on leash & more. On occasion, we host workshops on a variety of topics.

We are an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator and can evaluate dogs for the Canine Good Citizen Program, Trick Dog Titles, and the new Virtual Home Manners Program. We also offer puppy temperament testing for breeders. Please contact us for more information.

What experience do you have?

I come from a very animal friendly house hold. Growing up, I was apart of 4-H for 11 years before aging out. I personally owned or currently own dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, hermit crabs, fish, frogs, and lizards. I was at one time or another, involved with the 4-H dog club, 4-H rabbit & small animal club, and 4-H exotic bird & poultry club. I currently lead three clubs as a 4-H Leader (animal community service, rabbit/small animal, & dog). I started to show dogs in 6th grade in 4-H shows and started to show Small Animals (hamsters, guinea pigs, gerbil) in 8th grade in 4-H shows. I continued to show in 4-H until I aged out my first year in college. I began showing dogs when I was a senior in high school and still do it today in AKC and UKC events.

I am a Certified Professional Trainer who has experience working as a bather in a grooming salon, a doggie day care attendant, care provider in a boarding kennel and as a dog trainer at a dog boarding kennel. I have attended multiple workshops and seminars on a wide range of animal topics (both as a 4-H'er and as an adult). I am also trained in Pet First Aid & CPR.

We are proud members of the following prof organizations:

IACP (International Association of Canine Professionals)

NK9DTA (National K-9 Dog Trainers Association)

ISAA (Icelandic Sheepdog Association of America)

Gloucester County 4-H Fair Association

What is a consultation?

A consultation is basically a meet and greet. It lets everyone get to know each other, including the dog(s) we will be working with. This also allows us to see if we are the right fit for one another. We go over paperwork and any questions either of the parties have for one another. Consultations take approximately 45-60 minutes depending on the dogs involved.

How much are consultations?

Consultations are complimentary.

How long have you been in business?

All Jazzed Up Pet Services LLC legally formed in 2019. However, for years I have been watching and training friends, family members, neighbors and 4-H'er's pets.
